Community Involvement

Community Involvement challenges participants to learn about the importance of civic activism. Skills such as analyzing and charting survey results are reinforced though computer activities. Participants identify the assets and challenges in their community and begin formulating a plan for addressing them. They learn how to conduct a survey and how to write a report. They create a report based on Internet research, and first-person interviews. This module concludes the core program, and ends with preparation for a graduation ceremony. Preparation for graduation includes making closing presentations to each other and making sure their portfolios are complete.
