An energetic, educated and goal oriented staff, tutors children and youth,
ages 7-17 years old, on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. in language
skills and mathematical concepts. Phonics and reading are a special
emphasis in the curriculum. Homework assignments are completed and
checked. A news challenge is distributed to each student. Incentives
are given for the most correct answers on Tuesdays. Access to the Internet
and a mini-library is available upon request.
Incentives are distributed when excellent grades are earned in the school
classroom. Social skills are taught which include conflict resolution and
anger management.
The advanced math tutorial class is
scheduled for Tuesdays and Saturdays.
The curriculum is focused on the
presentation on solving and understanding algebra and geometric
problems.
These sessions are scheduled in the Safe
Haven Center. Appointments should be scheduled for the
Saturday Advanced Math Clinic by calling (323) 293-6581.
